Inpatient Rehab

An inpatient rehab is a drug rehab facility where the clients actually reside at the facility for the duration of their treatment programs. This could be for a few days for a withdrawal program, a few days for the shorter programs or 28 day 12 step types of drug rehab. It all depends on the extent and types of services being provided by that particular inpatient rehab. Narconon Arrowhead is an inpatient rehab. Further we are classified as a non-traditional and long term inpatient rehab. Long term can be a bit confusing. At Narconon Arrowhead we operate off of results obtained and not time spent. We are interested in rehabilitation for the individual that last a lifetime. An average of time spent on our program would be 90-120 days. Some take less and some take more, but the ruling viewpoint is as long as it takes to get results for that particular addict or alcoholic.

All drug rehab programs are not created equal; there are many different types and formats. There are long term, short term, in-patient, out-patient, traditional 12 step, and non traditional to name but a few. One big difference to be aware of is whether or not the drug rehab programs you may be looking at are drug free or whether the program embraces the use of other or substitute or additional drugs and ‘medications’ in an effort to control or alleviate addiction. Narconon Arrowhead is a long term, non traditional, drug free approach to the problems of abuse and addiction. These points set us apart from many of the other drug rehab programs available. We start with the assumption that the being is basically good and despite any appearances to the contrary actually wants to attain a completely drug free productive life. There are three major components to the Narconon Arrowhead chemical dependency treatment. 1. A full and complete handling of the mental and physical cravings that come from any form of dependency. There is more to this than mere withdrawal from use, though this is a vital starting point. 2. Handling the guilt and depression that comes from the dependent life style and the damage done to self and loved ones. Most addicts, given the know-how and chance will jump at the chance to relieve these devastating feeling that have been keeping them using more and more drugs and alcohol in a failed attempt to find some relief. 3. This involves having the needed skills and abilities to fix what damage they can and then go on to create a truly drug free and productive life. Once the individual feels better without drugs or alcohol than they do with them the need for these substances fade away. This is what chemical dependency treatment is all about.

Long term drug treatment is proving to be more and more effective in handling addiction and alcoholism for a lifetime. With the majority of rehab participants entering treatment with multiple drugs of abuse and addiction a long term drug treatment becomes more and more an important point in obtaining lifetime sobriety. There is also marked increase in potency of many of the drugs on the market these days to say nothing of the epidemic increase in the abuse of prescription drugs many of which have life threatening side effects. Treatment needs to be monitored not in terms of days spent in treatment but rather in terms of lasting results for a lifetime.

Drug rehab for young adults can sometimes present unique but fully resolvable issues to be addressed. Young adults can often the life experience which would serve to drive home the seriousness of their situation. They often times have little or no experience at being fully independent and responsible. Many still have very close financial ties to family, and as such may not have yet felt the full impact of their addiction. The rebelliousness of youth has often not fully play out and can get very irrational indeed when coupled with drug addiction.
