Drug Addiction Rehab Success Story

Today I finished the Narconon Drug Addiction Rehab Program. I feel really great. I can’t wait to start my new life without drugs and with my family. This has been an awesome experience here at this drug rehab. J.B.

Detox

Detox
Many people have a misunderstanding when it comes to detox. Quite often it is confused with withdrawal. Withdrawal is the process of ceasing the current drug or alcohol use with enough of the effects handled so as to give the individual a fighting chance at continued sobriety. Detox on the other hand should involve removing the quantities of drugs and toxins that store in the fat tissues of the body, sometimes for years. The Narconon Arrowhead New Life Detoxification Program is done following withdrawal and results in a marked resurgence in the overall sense of well-being for the individual. Many, if not most, of our detoxification program completions report an end to their drug or alcohol cravings at this point.

Addiction Effects and Addiction

Addiction Effects
The effects of addiction of course impact the addict himself, of which he or she is usually painfully aware. Deterioration of health, loss of energy and drive, and uncontrollable cravings for drugs or alcohol are just a few of these. The effects created on friends and family can be just as devastating but are generally less well known to the addict. The reason for this is that drugs and alcohol reduce awareness of the environment more and more as addiction continues. The cravings, guilt and depression that go hand in hand with drug addiction are the reasons for continued use and relapse. The addict or alcohol usually is not malicious in terms of the damage caused to family and loved ones, he or she is simply not fully aware of the effects being created. There world is centered on obtaining and using more and more drugs and alcohol.

Inpatient Rehab and Addiction

Inpatient Rehab
An inpatient rehab is a drug rehab facility where the clients actually reside at the facility for the duration of their treatment programs. This could be for a few days for a withdrawal program, a few days for the shorter programs or 28 day 12 step types of drug rehab. It all depends on the extent and types of services being provided by that particular inpatient rehab. Narconon Arrowhead is an inpatient rehab. Further we are classified as a non-traditional and long term inpatient rehab. Long term can be a bit confusing. At Narconon Arrowhead we operate off of results obtained and not time spent. We are interested in rehabilitation for the individual that last a lifetime. An average of time spent on our program would be 90-120 days. Some take less and some take more, but the ruling viewpoint is as long as it takes to get results for that particular addict or alcoholic.

Rehabilitation Services and Addiction

Rehabilitation Services
When evaluating various rehabilitation services one quite often comes across low success rates which are disheartening at best. The goal of rehabilitation services should be to put the individual in such good shape both mentally and physically that he or she is able to leave addiction behind for a lifetime. Narconon Arrowhead rehabilitation services are geared for the personal and unique needs of each individual. Addressed are areas which include but are not limited to; drug use cessation and withdrawal, full detoxification of the body, handling of cravings, quilt and depression, life skills training to ensure needed tools for a continue drug free life are mastered, Improved abilities to communicate with and control one’s environment and repair past damage, and a host of other factors needing addressed. These are located by extensive interviews, testing, and staff/student interaction. The student is educated and empowered. Rehabilitation services should do just that, serve the individual in confronting and resolving his or her own situation. Abilities gained and tools that work is what Narconon Arrowhead rehabilitation services are all about!

Alcoholic and Addiction

Alcoholic
The term ‘Alcoholic’ is simply the name given to someone addicted to alcohol. Addiction is a condition characterized by repeated and compulsive seeking and use of drugs, alcohol, or other substances despite adverse social, mental, and physical consequences. All the various formulas regarding how many drinks, how often, are meaningless when reviewed against the above definition. The compulsive seeking and use could be by the minute, hour, day, etc. The key is compulsive seeking and use, despite what it does to self, family, or career. It is not that the alcoholic doesn’t care; it is that the use has become compulsive and the cravings, guilt, and depression keep him or her drinking.
